Allegory
An allegory is a piece of literature in which characters symbolize a larger entity throughout the entire work.
Eliza: "I want to know what I may take away with me. I dont want to be accused of stealing" (Shaw 101, Act V).
Eliza serves as an allegory for the lower class. Even after she won the bet for Higgins at the garden party, she wondered if she should return her clothes and jewelry, since Colonel Pickering was the one who bought them. She never forgot her roots in the lower class.
